Composition: Cilnidipine 5 mg

CILITAB-5 is a modern calcium channel blocker used for the effective management of high blood pressure (hypertension). It is a dual L-type and N-type calcium channel blocker, which helps relax and widen the blood vessels while also reducing stress on the sympathetic nervous system. This unique action helps maintain stable blood pressure throughout the day and provides smoother BP control compared to older calcium-channel blockers.

By improving blood flow and reducing the workload on the heart, Cilnidipine 5 mg helps lower the risk of long-term cardiovascular complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage. It is well-tolerated and commonly prescribed as a first-line antihypertensive medication.

Uses

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)

• Reduces risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart failure

• Helps protect kidney function in hypertensive patients

• Provides smoother BP control by reducing sympathetic nerve activity

• Preferred in patients with swelling issues from Amlodipine (less edema)

How to Use

• Take one tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day

• Can be taken with or without food

• Do not miss doses or discontinue without consulting your physician

• Follow the dosage as prescribed by your doctor

Side Effects

Most side effects are mild and temporary. Common side effects include:

• Dizziness or light-headedness

• Headache

• Fatigue

• Flushing

• Mild swelling of feet (less compared to Amlodipine)

Less common side effects:

• Palpitations

• Nausea

• Sleep disturbances

Seek medical attention if you experience severe dizziness, swelling, rapid heartbeat, or difficulty breathing.

Precautions

• Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, heart failure, or low blood pressure

• Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness occurs

• Alcohol may enhance blood pressure–lowering effects; consume cautiously

• Suitable for long-term use under medical supervision

• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use
