Composition

Each controlled-release tablet contains:

• Nitroglycerin – 2.6 mg

Description

Nitroglycerin is a vasodilator that relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow to the heart. The controlled-release formulation ensures a steady effect over time, helping prevent chest pain (angina).

Uses

• Prevention of angina pectoris (chest pain)
• Management of coronary artery disease
• Reduces workload on the heart
• Improves blood circulation

Side Effects

Common:

• Headache (very common)
• Dizziness
• Flushing
• Low blood pressure

Serious:

• Severe hypotension
• Rapid heartbeat
• Fainting

Precautions

• Do not take with sildenafil or similar drugs (dangerous drop in BP)
• Avoid alcohol
• Rise slowly from sitting/lying position
• Use cautiously in:
  • Low blood pressure patients
  • Recent heart attack cases
• Continuous use may lead to tolerance
