Composition

Dapagliflozin 10 mg

Mechanism of Action (MOA)

Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 (Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter 2) inhibitor. It works by blocking glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, causing excess glucose to be excreted through urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.

Uses

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Heart Failure (with reduced or preserved ejection fraction)
• Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
• Reducing cardiovascular risk in diabetic patients

Common Side Effects

• Urinary tract infections (UTI)
• Genital fungal infections
• Increased urination
• Thirst
• Dizziness
• Dehydration
• Low blood pressure

Precautions

• Monitor kidney function regularly.
• Maintain adequate hydration.
• Use cautiously in elderly patients.
• Not recommended for Type 1 Diabetes.
• Stop temporarily before major surgery as advised by physician.
• Monitor for signs of ketoacidosis.
