Etorvas-10

Composition: Atorvastatin 10 mg
Etorvas-10 is a lipid-lowering medication containing Atorvastatin 10 mg, widely used for managing high cholesterol and supporting long-term cardiovascular health. It works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme responsible for cholesterol formation in the liver, thereby reducing LDL (bad cholesterol), triglycerides, and slightly increasing HDL (good cholesterol). Etorvas-10 helps prevent the progression of atherosclerosis and lowers the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events. It is commonly prescribed to patients with high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension, or those with a family history of heart disease. The medicine is usually taken once daily, preferably in the evening, along with diet control, exercise, and lifestyle modification for best results.

Uses:

• Treatment of high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia)

• Reduction of LDL and triglycerides

• Increase in HDL cholesterol

• Prevention of heart attack and stroke

• Management of dyslipidemia in diabetic and cardiac-risk patients

Side Effects:

• Headache

• Muscle pain or weakness

• Stomach discomfort

• Nausea

• Elevated liver enzymes (rare)

• Rare: severe muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis)

Other Details:

• Periodic liver function tests may be recommended

• Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice

• Should be combined with a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding

• Inform the doctor if experiencing persistent muscle pain
