Composition

• Amlodipine Besilate – 5 mg (or as labeled)
• Atenolol – 50 mg (or as labeled)

This is a combination medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension).

• Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker → relaxes blood vessels
• Atenolol is a beta-blocker → reduces heart rate and workload

Together, they improve blood flow and reduce strain on the heart.

⚠️ Side Effects

Common:

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Fatigue
• Slow heart rate
• Swelling of ankles (edema)

Serious (rare):

• Severe drop in BP
• Breathing difficulty
• Irregular heartbeat

⚕️ Precautions

• Avoid in patients with low heart rate or heart block
• Use cautiously in asthma, diabetes, or kidney/liver issues
• Do not stop suddenly (risk of rebound hypertension)
• Avoid alcohol (may increase dizziness)
• Take regularly at the same time daily
