Composition

• Diclofenac Potassium 50 mg
• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 325 mg

2. Description

This is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication.

• Diclofenac Potassium: A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain, inflammation, and swelling by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
• Paracetamol: An analgesic and antipyretic that helps reduce pain and fever.

Together, they provide faster and more effective pain relief compared to single-drug therapy.

3. Uses

This combination is commonly used for:

• Musculoskeletal pain (back pain, sprains, strains)
• Joint pain (arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis)
• Dental pain
• Post-operative pain
• Fever with body pain
• Headache and migraine
• Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea)

4. Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• Nausea, vomiting
• Stomach pain, indigestion
• Heartburn
• Dizziness
• Loss of appetite

Serious (but rare):

• Gastric ulcer or bleeding
• Liver toxicity (especially due to Paracetamol overdose)
• Kidney problems
• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty)

5. Precautions

• Take after food to reduce gastric irritation
• Avoid in patients with:
  • History of ulcers or GI bleeding
  • Severe liver or kidney disease
• Do not exceed recommended dose (risk of liver damage)
• Avoid alcohol consumption
• Use cautiously in:
  • Elderly patients
  • Patients with heart disease
• Not recommended during late pregnancy
• Avoid combining with other NSAIDs or paracetamol-containing drugs
