Composition

• Esomeprazole – 40 mg (enteric-coated / gastro-resistant)

📖 Description

Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production.
The gastro-resistant coating ensures the drug is released in the intestine, protecting it from stomach acid and improving effectiveness.

🎯 Uses

• Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
• Peptic ulcers (gastric & duodenal)
• Acid reflux / heartburn
• Zollinger–Ellison syndrome
• Protection against NSAID-induced ulcers

⚠️ Side Effects

Common:

• Headache
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain

Long-term use (rare concerns):

• Vitamin B12 deficiency
• Low magnesium levels
• Bone weakness (with prolonged use)

⚕️ Precautions

• Take before meals (usually morning)
• Do not crush/chew (enteric coating)
• Use cautiously in liver disorders
• Long-term use only under medical supervision
