Composition

• Cefixime – 200 mg (commonly used strength)
• Potassium Clavulanate – 125 mg

📝 Description

Fixalp-CV is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination used to treat resistant bacterial infections.

• Cefixime kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis
• Clavulanate prevents bacterial resistance by blocking beta-lactamase enzymes

This combination is often used when single antibiotics are not effective.

⚠️ Side Effects

Common:

• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain

Others:

• Skin rash
• Indigestion

Rare:

• Severe allergic reactions
• Liver enzyme changes

⚠️ Precautions

• Take after food
• Complete full antibiotic course
• Avoid in:
  • Allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins
• Use cautiously in:
  • Kidney disease
  • Liver disorders
• Not effective for viral infections
