Product Description

 (Mupirocin  gel IP 2% w/w) is a topical antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections. It is effective against Gram-positive bacteria, especially Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus species.

Mupirocin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth. It is commonly prescribed for impetigo, infected cuts, wounds, and minor skin infections.

Composition

• Mupirocin IP – 2% w/w

• Ointment base – q.s.

• Impetigo

• Folliculitis

• Secondary skin infections

How It Works

Mupirocin inhibits bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, preventing protein synthesis and leading to bacterial cell death.

Precautions

• For external use only

• Avoid contact with eyes

• Do not apply on large open wounds unless prescribed
