Description:

Itrakelox-100 contains itraconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal agent used in the treatment of various fungal infections. It is effective against dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds, making it useful in both superficial and systemic fungal infections.

Mechanism of Action:

Itraconazole works by inhibiting the fungal enzyme 14-alpha demethylase, which is essential for the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane.

• This leads to disruption of cell membrane integrity
• Causes leakage of cellular contents
• Ultimately results in fungal cell death

Uses:

• Dermatophytosis (ringworm infections)
• Onychomycosis (nail infections)
• Candidiasis (oral, vaginal, systemic)
• Aspergillosis
• Histoplasmosis and other systemic fungal infections

Side Effects:

• Nausea

• Elevated liver enzymes

Precautions:
