Composition:

• Tranexamic Acid
• Mefenamic Acid

Description:

Kelnexa TR Tablets combine Tranexamic Acid, an antifibrinolytic agent, with Mefenamic Acid, an NSAID. This combination is primarily used to manage heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) along with associated pain. It helps reduce blood loss and provides effective relief from cramps and inflammation.

Mechanism of Action:

• Tranexamic Acid: Inhibits fibrinolysis by blocking the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby preventing excessive bleeding.
• Mefenamic Acid: Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and relieving pain and inflammation.

Uses:

• Heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)
• Dysmenorrhea (painful periods)
• Abnormal uterine bleeding
• Pain associated with menstruation

Side Effects:

• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Gastric discomfort
• Headache
• Rare: thromboembolic events

Precautions:

• Avoid in patients with history of thrombosis
• Use cautiously in renal impairment
• Do not use for prolonged duration without medical advice
• Avoid in patients with bleeding disorders unless prescribed
• Consult doctor during pregnancy and lactation
