Composition:

• Norfloxacin
• Tinidazole

Description:

Kelpinor-TZ Tablets are a combination of Norfloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and Tinidazole, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent. This combination is widely used for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by bacteria and protozoa. It provides broad-spectrum coverage and helps in rapid relief from infection-related symptoms.

Mechanism of Action:

• Norfloxacin: Inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, preventing bacterial DNA replication and leading to cell death.
• Tinidazole: Causes DNA damage in anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, leading to cell death.

Uses:

• Acute diarrhea
• Dysentery
• Gastrointestinal infections
• Amoebiasis
• Traveler’s diarrhea

Side Effects:

• Nausea
• Metallic taste
• Dizziness
• Abdominal discomfort
• Headache

Precautions:

• Avoid alcohol during and after treatment (Tinidazole interaction)
• Use cautiously in liver disorders
• Complete the full course of therapy
• Not recommended in pregnancy unless prescribed
