Paracetamol Infusion I.P. 1% w/v (100 mL)

🧾 Description

Paracetamol Infusion I.P. 1% w/v is a sterile intravenous analgesic and antipyretic solution containing Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 10 mg/mL (1% w/v).

It is used for the short-term treatment of moderate pain and fever, especially when oral administration is not possible (post-surgery, vomiting, ICU patients, etc.).

It works by reducing fever and relieving pain through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

📌 Directions for Use

• For Intravenous infusion only

• Administer over 15 minutes via IV infusion

• Usual adult dose: 1 g (100 mL) every 6–8 hours (as prescribed)

• Maximum daily dose should not exceed prescribed limit (usually 4 g/day in adults)

• Dose adjustment required in liver disease

• Do not mix with other drugs unless compatible

• Check solution clarity before use

• Discard unused portion
