Mannitol Injection- IP-Desk port

Description

Mannitol Injection IP 20% is a sterile, non-pyrogenic intravenous osmotic diuretic solution containing Mannitol 20% w/v in Water for Injection.

It is primarily used to reduce intracranial pressure (brain swelling), decrease intraocular pressure, and promote urine output in acute kidney conditions. Mannitol works by drawing excess fluid from tissues into the bloodstream, which is then eliminated through urine.

It is used in emergency, neurology, nephrology, and critical care settings.

• Cerebral edema (brain swelling)

• Increased intracranial pressure

• Acute glaucoma (reduce eye pressure)

• Acute renal failure (to promote urine flow)

• Drug toxicity elimination (forced diuresis)

• Prevention of kidney damage during surgery

📌 Directions for Use

• For Intravenous infusion only

• Administer under strict medical supervision

• Infuse slowly via IV (rate depends on patient condition)

• Dosage is based on body weight and clinical indication

• Monitor urine output, electrolytes, and kidney function

• Warm solution if crystals are present (do not use if not fully dissolved)

• Do not use if solution is cloudy or container damaged

• Discard unused portion
