 Product Description

Whitfield’s Ointment I.P. is a topical antifungal formulation containing Benzoic Acid and Salicylic Acid. It is widely used for treating common superficial fungal skin infections.

• Benzoic Acid – Acts as an antifungal agent that inhibits fungal growth.

• Salicylic Acid – Acts as a keratolytic agent, helping remove dead skin cells and enhancing penetration of the antifungal component.

It is typically available in 20 gm tubes or cartons and is meant for external use only.

• Ringworm (Tinea corporis)

• Athlete’s foot (Tinea pedis)

• Jock itch (Tinea cruris)

• Other mild superficial fungal skin infections

⚠️ Possible Side Effects

• Mild burning sensation

• Skin irritation

• Redness

• Peeling (due to salicylic acid action)

If severe irritation occurs, discontinue and consult a doctor.

• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes

• Do not apply on broken or severely inflamed skin

• Not recommended for infants unless prescribed
